Most of our time in this world is made up of everyday moments that somehow stitch together a life. And yet in the typical newspaper or newsmagazine, these moments tend to get overlooked because they have no "news value." If human experience is a continuum, with ultimate tragedy as one extreme and ultimate happiness as the other, most people spend most of their lives somewhere in the vast middle. Yet news coverage is drawn to those extremes. Yes, there is obvious drama and public interest in the extremes. But I believe there is fascination and beauty in the broad center as well. I hope this set of pictures captures some of that everyday meaning.
